Orientation (Farming 101) – Spring 2020

Farming 101 is a 7-week course that introduces students to small-scale regenerative farming.
Wild Willow Farm will cover the fundamentals of farming. We literally start from the ground up and no experience is needed! Our program is fully scalable where what you learn can be applied to container gardening, community gardens, or applied to a small scale working farm.
Gain a strong holistic understanding of soil, composting, bed building, propagation, irrigation, IPM (integrated pest management), and more.
Dates March 21st thru April 27th. We will meet twice a week:
Field Labs Saturdays 9:00am to 4pm at Wild Willow Farm
Classes Wednesday 6pm to 8pm centrally located

Distinction between different agricultural models: (industrial, conventional, transi-tional, organic, sustainable, regenerative); ethical farming; regenerative farming practices; food miles; benefits of locally produced food; reduction of purchased inputs.
